VFS consent form
These are the exclusive visa administrative service centre approved by the Canadian government. You have to fill out the VFS consent form and attach it with your application form. Note that non-conformance can lead to form returns.
Here are the supporting documents for Canada visa and immigration from Nigeria:
- Nigerian passport valid for at least six months
- Medical report and photocopy of Yellow fever vaccination certificate
- A detailed bank statement from your financial institution showing evidence of sufficient funds

- Tax clearance certificate
- Confirmation of travel insurance
- Letter of consent from your employer or education establishment
- A letter of declaration/request for a Canadian visa
Payment of visa and biometric fees is done online using credit/prepaid cards and at the Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC) office at Lagos and Abuja, which ever is more convenient for you. Visa fees are individual CAN$100 (N23, 000), Family CAN$500 (N115, 000), biometric fees are as follows CAN$85 (N19, 550) for individual, CAN$170 (N39, 100) for family. Please note that you will be charged an additional services charge of CAN$49.73 (N11, 400) along with the above mentioned fees. Online payment can only be allowed when you submit your application (either online or offline application), when you finish, you must print your receipt and submit to the VFS Global office.

Submit your application and supporting documents
Submission of forms, passport, all supporting documents, biometrics and visa fees payment is done at the CVAC Nigerian office, you’ll be issued a receipt which contains a unique tracking number to track your application progress online. Visa applications are accepted on Mondays to Fridays 08:00am – 03:00pm; note that you’re not allowed to submit via mail.

After review, you’ll receive notification from the Government of Canada requesting your passport; the passport along with the request letter from IRCC may be submitted through the CVAC office either in person or by courier, all accompanying service charges, courier fees and a self addressed prepaid courier envelope should be included as well.

Passport will be submitted to The Deputy High Commission of Canada. After review, you’ll be notified of passport retrieval which you can pick up in person or use the self addressed prepaid courier envelope.
