Studying medicine abroad as a Nigerian international student is a prestigious challenge; it is characterized by intense study hours, years of professional training, college tuition fees, student consultation hours and tough university entry requirements. I recently profiled an article on the best medical schools in the world to help aid your selections and admission processing. Medical school tuition and practice fees are relatively high; this is one of the main reasons for low admission statistics for international students attending overseas medical schools; you’ll need to provide evidence of a substantial funding source for the entire duration of your studies and sometimes financial statements indicating enough money (about $200,000) in your account at the time of admission, this is because Nigerian students hardly receive financial aid or loans from foreign government.
